My Healthy Home Summit: Education | Technology | Building Science
When we are sick and go to the doctor, they run all sorts of tests to find out what is wrong, and in many cases, the labs come back normal.
In these instances, the tests that really need to be run are on your home.
For most of us, our homes are where we spend the majority of our time.
And it is the place where we are exposed to toxins that make us sick.
The common chemicals and toxins in homes include molds, allergens, lead, VOCs, carcinogens, formaldehydes, pesticides, plastics, teflon, and EMFs.
And these can be the source of headaches, muscle aches, breathing issues, allergies, or more serious conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or cancer.
But how bad is it?
Almost every household item is treated with chemicals for “safety”.
Formaldehyde is used in many furniture glues, clothes are sprayed with anti-wrinkle chemicals, and sofas and curtains are covered in flame retardants.
All of these off-gas dangerous VOCs and carcinogenic chemicals in the air.
Then there was a recent study showing that 50% of AC units contain mold.
And many homes have problems like radon gas, dirty electricity, or EMFs due to their location, construction, building materials, or bad neighbours.
Science has shown that indoor air is significantly more toxic than outdoor air.
Let’s not forget water contamination, hard water, and even gases or toxins coming from food preparation, including stoves, microwaves, and utensils.
As strange as it sounds, living in your own home could be a death trap.
Caroline Blazovsky, or more popularly known as America’s Healthy Home Expert, has been an environmental residential consultant for over 25 years.
She believes that our homes are the primary key to health and wellness.
In her 25 years, she has seen that homes which are not properly designed, maintained, or cleared of toxins, can lead to a plethora of health issues.
And also that the more toxic the home, the more unhealthy the occupants.
If your health issue is being caused by your home, no matter what amount of pills you take, you will never be able to get well until you correct the source.
Your doctor isn’t going to come and check your home, which is why we all need to take this job on personally and make sure our home is safe to live in.
But what do you do and where do you start?
Caroline is hosting the My Health Home Summit, and she will give you all the things to look for, and all the steps you need to take to make a healthy home.
It covers all aspects of a healthy home, including construction, renovations, cooking, water quality, mold and moisture control, air quality, and more.
Including topics such as recirculating pollution, old vs new houses, floor vents, duct- cleaning, air ventilation vs airtight homes, and natural lighting.
Hidden health threats will be unmasking, including toxic buildups in places you least expect them, and airborne hazards that you’d never see coming.
You will learn how to identify and test your home for toxins, the best new technologies for diagnosing problems, and affordable remediation strategies.
After attending this summit and creating a healthier home, you can expect better sleep, reduced allergies, and better mental and physical health.
You may uncover and remediate the source of what is causing a present persistent health problem, or prevent a serious disease in the future.
If you’ve got any persistent or mystery health issues, or really want to make your home a safer place for you and your family, this summit is for you.
