VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Ok, it’s very windy and noisy today. There is a train here. But I want to talk about the lubricating strips found on razors. It is a problem for both men and women, as they are found on almost all razors in the market.

Have you ever had a shaving rash or razor burn? What they don’t tell you is that it’s not from the razor, but is more likely to be a chemical reaction. (Oh man, it’s windy and there is a storm coming in, but I’ll continue) That’s right, these lubricating strips in the razors are chock-full of dangerous chemicals.

It’s not only skin reactions they can cause, but also cause internal body reactions. Many of these chemicals, they absorb fast through the skin just on contact, but combine that with shaving and the micro-abrasions that the razors cause, creating an ideal entry point for chemicals to get into the body.

So, what’s in there?

Ethylene Oxide – The International Agency for Research on Cancer classifies ethylene oxide as a known human carcinogen

Tocopheryl Acetate – A skin allergen, and a toxicant, and it’s linked to cancer.

Titanium Dioxide – Also causes cancer, and classified as toxic or harmful by Environment Canada Domestic Substance List

BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) – Causes cancer, and induces allergic reactions in the skin

Phenoxyethanol – Classified as an irritant by the EU, and already restricted in Japan

Polyurethane Oxide (Polyethylene Glycol) – Its own MDS warns that it is harmful if absorbed through the skin

Fragrance – Technically, this is an undisclosed mixture of chemicals. ie. Something so dangerous they want to hide the real name from you on the label.

Colours – Same thing, they just put colours down as they try to hide what it really is on the label. What we do know is personal care products use colours derived from coal tars, which are known to cause thyroid tumours, kidney tumours, allergic reactions, hyperactivity, and are packed with lead and arsenic salts.

Aluminium Salts – Absorbed through the skin and into your brain, causing alzheimer’s and dementia.

1,4-dioxane – Maybe the most dangerous of all, as it has already been shown to cause cancer in studies on animals, and the levels in razors can be over 1,000 times higher. Worse still, it is a fast absorber, with the FDA’s skin absorption studies showing that it readily penetrates human skin.

That’s just 10 of the ingredients, but there are plenty more harmful chemicals in razor lubricating strips. I couldn’t cover them all because I don’t want the video to be 20 or 30 minutes long, but there is 10 of the worst, and it goes without saying, don’t ever use razors with lubricating strips. They are highly toxic and in the long term can definitely kill you.

What is the solution? Well. at the moment, I am still using razors. I buy them with the lubricating strips on them, but I just take the strip out. I used to do it with a knife, but now, you can pop them out with your hands. It’s pretty easy.

But there are even better solutions. For more information about shaving dangers and better natural solutions for them, visit my website at healthglade.com
